An Explanation of the Aqeedah of Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jama’ah

Ahlul hadeeth - The Way Of The Salaf

Abu Hibbaan & Abu Khuzaimah Ansaari

At the time of the Fitnah (trial and tribulations) of Qadr [1], Rafd, Ei’tizaal (Mutazilites), Irjaa (whether Eemaan does not increase or decrease) and Khalq al-Qur’aan (the Creation of the Qur’aan), Imaam Abul-Hasan Musadad ibn Masahid ibn Masarbil Asadee Basree (d. 228H) wrote to Ahmad ibn Hanbal to write concerning the issues from the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) and to send it to him. When this letter reached the Imaam he said whilst weeping :

To Allaah we belong and to him is our return, This Basree has spent enough wealth acquiring knowledge, yet the condition of his knowledge is that he could not acquire the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) regarding these issues.”

Then he wrote this Answer :

All praise is for Allaah who preserved the People of Knowledge

The Evil Consequences of Taqleed, Hizbiyyah and Partisanship

Ahlul hadeeth - The Way Of The Salaf

Abu Hibbaan & Abu Khuzaimah Ansaari

1.  Im interested in the statement that madhabs were enforced due to partisanship and not due to scholarly foresight or decision, can i gain further information to read up??

ANSWER

PART 1

Sure, although it can be said madhabs and their taqleed was enforced due to partisanship and at times staunch and bigoted as they may have been it would also at the same instance be unfair to say madhabs were enforced due to this reason alone. It may be said or argued that this enforcing was a cause for the partisanship and also similarly and equally the partisanship was a means and a reason for the enforcing and this is how this dynamic should be understood.

This has also lead to some fanatics in their fanaticism in giving Ahlul Bidah a field day and not saying anything about them but rather using petty…

To Follow the Messenger of Allaah (Sallalahu Alayhee Wasallam) or do Taqlid of Abu Haneefa

Ahlul hadeeth - The Way Of The Salaf

Dr Shaikh Sayyid Tayyb ur-Rehmaan

Trans. Abu Hibbaan & Abu Khuzaimah Ansaari

The Misconception
Imam Abu Haneefah (May Allaah have mercy on him) was a big scholar, he saw the companions and learnt the deen from them hence therefore we should do taqleed of him!

Answer
The virtue or rank of any Imam or scholar is not enough evidence to constitute that taqleed should be done of them. If we assume the virtue and rank of Abu Haneefah is an evidence for us to do taqleed of him then let us look at Imam Hasan al-Basri. He spent his whole life during the time of the companions and benefited from so many of them.

The Innovated Jamaat – Jamaat ut-Tabligh – Allaamah Tuwaijiri

Ahlul hadeeth - The Way Of The Salaf

Jamaat ut-Tabligh
Profound words of Shaikh al-Allaamah Hamood bin Abdullah bin Hamood at-Tuwaijiri summarising them in one paragraph,

QUESTION: How are jamat ut-tabligh? What is the correct understanding with regards to the two different views about this jamaat. Some people say it is good jamaat and support it whilst others oppose and refute it. They also say they have read the fatwa of Shaikh Muhammad ibn Ibrahim who remained silent about this jamaat and he did not refute or rebuke them. So what do you advise with regards to them and should we go out in khuruj with them in the kingdom of saudi arabia?

ANSWER: My answer is that jamaat ut-tabligh is a misguided jamaat and it is an innovated jamaat. This jamaat is not upon the way the Messenger of Allaah (Salallahu Alayhi Wassalm) or the way the companions were upon. This jamat is upon the way…

Suicide Operations Are NOT Defenestration At The Enemy – Shaikh Dr. Hamad Al-’Uthmaan

Ahlul hadeeth - The Way Of The Salaf

Translator: Taalib Alexander

In this article professor Hamad al-‘Uthmaan, Professor in the department of Prophetic Traditions (Hadeeth) and Qur’aanic Exegesis (Tafseer), the Faculty of Islaamic Law and Islaamic studies at the Kuwait University, discusses the difference between Suicide Operations and defenestration (the act of throwing oneself at the enemy in the hope of killing as many as possible with the possibility of death) clarifying the Islaamic position against suicide operations and presenting the religious verdict – fatwa – of shaykh Muhammad Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy upon him) which expounds the legal prohibition of suicide operations.

The difference between defenestration [1] at the enemy and suicide (operations) is extremely clear and it is that the suicide bomber sets out to kill himself by his own hand, and he chooses wanting death by this manner, while the defenestrator is killed by the hand of the enemy of Allaah after fighting…
